Asomugha saw some action as a rookie but wasn't forced into a starting role until late in the 2004 season. Nnamdi has proven himself in the NFL as a very solid tackler who seldom gives up the big play. He also possesses great size at 6'2, giving him the ability to line up against more physical receivers. Fabian Washington: This 22 year-old rookie out of Nebraska was taken in the first round by Oakland in the 2005 draft. Washington temporarily lost his starting job to fellow rookie Stanford Routt at the beginning of the season but quickly gained it back. Listed at 5'10, Washington has outstanding speed-running the 40-yard dash in 4.29 at the NFL combine. All together, he completed his three-year career at Nebraska with 11 interceptions and 38 pass defenses. Washington shows great potential as a rookie and has the ability to make big plays for the defense.Renaldo Hill: Hill is playing his first season in the silver and black this year after beginning his career with four seasons on the Arizona Cardinals. Out of Michigan State, this five-year player has proven to be a reliable corner throughout has entire career. From 2002-2004, Hill racked up eight interceptions, four sacks, 144 tackles, and knocked down 29 passes. Already in limited time this season Hill has 21 tackles and has knocked down three passes.Stanford Routt: The Raiders selected Routt with the sixth pick in the second round of the 2005 NFL Draft. Routt had an outstanding preseason and even saw some time as a nickel corner early in the season. However, with increased pressure put on by first-rounder Fabian Washington, Routt was pushed back into a dime coverage role. deflections. Like Washington, Routt shows great speed, running the 40 in 4.36, but also possesses great size at 6'1.
